The student march

Even though I’m not a student anymore since April, I took part in yesterday’s student march in Düsseldorf. 10000 people were expected but only 3000 or 4000 students came. The march was fun because of the good weather. At one point it almost happened that a crossroad was evicted that had been blocked by the march. But appearantly too few people were willing to get beaten for defending this spot so the march just went on. There were more squattings of crossroads, some filming by the police and a final manifestation directly at the river Rhine. Drawing into account that at the university Essen alone more people had to quit studying because of the 650 Euro fee than took part in the march, the small participation was disappointing.
